Mrs Liesl Kaan

Registered Social Worker

I am a clinical social worker in private practice. I aim to create a safe space for my clients where they feel comfortable to share their emotions and thoughts.

About Me

As a clinical social worker, I help you voice your emotions and thoughts. My aim is to create a truly safe space, allowing you to share openly without judgment. We can explore your experiences together, where you will feel fully heard. This supportive, confidential setting is ideal if you seek to make sense of your feelings and find a way forward.

Approach

When you arrive with questions, worries or heavy feelings, I work slowly and attentively so your experience can unfold at a comfortable pace. In my Johannesburg practice — and online, in English or Afrikaans — sessions mix quiet listening, gentle reflection and practical steps you can try between meetings; with children I use age‑appropriate activities to help them express what words cannot. I check in regularly about what helps and adjust our pace together. This way of working often suits people navigating loss, change or overwhelm.
