You are taking the first of many steps to improve your life, and I am here to walk alongside you in this journey. Emotional wellness is the foundation for both success and happiness. I have dedicated my entire life and career to helping others. During this time, I have had the honor and privilege of supporting my clients during some of the darkest moments of their lives, while witnessing their growth and healing. I truly believe that the professional relationship between a client and therapist is sacred. My role as your therapist is to provide a meaningful, safe, and confidential space where you can explore all your thoughts, feelings and experiences without judgement. I am fully committed to supporting your well-being and helping to ease the pain and distress you are experiencing. We will explore what brings you here together. We will build on your strengths while making room for the hard parts too. Our time together will be a place where you can be yourself, speak openly and feel both accepted and understood.

About Me

I am the proud daughter of Vietnamese refugees who migrated to America with little more than hope and determination to rebuild their lives. From a young age, I witnessed my parents work tirelessly without complaint. The sacrifices they made taught me that a job is not just a means to earn a living, but a responsibility to honor the opportunities created by those who came before me. Carrying my family's history with me, I work hard to support my family while honoring their journey. Through my parents, I was inspired to choose a career that has allowed me to help others and live out the values they have taught me. I lived in California my whole life, where my academic studies and training in psychology and social work have equipped me with the essential skills and education needed to effectively support clients in the field of mental health. I visited Vietnam with my little family and fell in love with the culture and the people. Learning that there is a deficit of mental health providers in Vietnam, I made the decision to return to my place of birth and start a new chapter here. I am very much looking forward to reconnecting with my heritage and the beautiful people here in Vietnam.

Approach

My approach is rooted in empathy, kindness, active listening, and a firm belief that therapy is an effective method of treatment. At the heart of my work is a belief in the transformative power of vulnerability, understanding and shared commitment to the process. Together, we will work towards building a deeper understanding of your needs and identify lasting solutions. Life and relationships are complex, but I believe that with the right tools, you can transform even the most difficult situation into opportunities for change, growth and happiness. I adapt my techniques based on a client's needs and circumstances. I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques such as cognitive restructuring to challenge negative thought patterns, journaling to track emotions, practicing mindfulness to observe feelings without judgment, using relaxation techniques like deep-breathing and meditation, and learning distress tolerance skills to manage intense emotions effectively. For couples seeking to strengthen emotional connections or improve their relationships, I use Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). The overall goal is to change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors to improve emotional well-being. These are all techniques that can be learned and have the potential to improve your moods and overall quality of living.
