Dr Kate McMahon

Music Therapist

I work with people looking for creative ways to support their wellbeing. I work with people who might be struggling with mental health or chronic illness. Through a collaborative process, we'll find ways to create comfort, find meaning, and improve your confidence. I offer free 15 minute music therapy discovery calls.

About Me

I invite you to explore how music can support your wellbeing. If you're navigating mental health challenges or chronic illness, this creative approach offers a unique path. We can collaboratively discover ways to find comfort, deepen your confidence, and create meaning through sound and rhythm. This is for anyone seeking a supportive space. A free 15-minute discovery call provides a chance to see how we might work together.

Approach

What follows is a practical, paced exploration using sound, silence and simple musical activities tuned to how you’re feeling in the moment. Sessions are offered in Melbourne and online in English, usually weekly, with flexible pacing for individuals, couples, families and older adults. We blend live playing, songwriting, voice and gentle movement with conversation to regulate the body, process difficult moments and build everyday coping skills. People living with chronic illness, anxiety, mood changes or memory loss often find this steady, creative rhythm helpful.
