Ms Joanne Anagnostu

Professional Counselor

I am an empathic, understanding and supportive Registered Counsellor who specialises in Expressive Arts. I help my clients explore their emotions and life challenges through various arts modalities as well as traditional counselling techniques.

About Me

As an empathic, supportive Registered Counsellor, I welcome you to explore emotions and life challenges. I help clients express inner experiences, blending various arts modalities with traditional Counseling techniques. This creative approach is ideal if you find words alone insufficient, or wish to process feelings differently. Together, we can gently guide you towards deeper self-understanding and personal growth.

Approach

With gentle curiosity, I invite you to use art alongside talk to make sense of change, loss or the small confusions that keep returning. Sessions are held in Johannesburg in English or Afrikaans in a calm, child-friendly space where pace follows your comfort. We work collaboratively — hands-on expressive tasks, short developmental or diagnostic checks for children when helpful, and reflective discussion that links what happens in the studio to daily life. This practical, gentle rhythm often helps people navigating transitions, grief, family strain or low self-worth.
