Jammie Peterson

Social Worker (Mental Health)

I am graduate from the University of Southern California. I have been working in mental health since 2017 and in the field of social work since 2010. I have worked with numerous high risk populations throughout Los Angeles county including; residential group homes, probation youth, homeless & hospice.

About Me

As a Mental Health Social Worker (ASW), I bring extensive experience supporting individuals through life's toughest moments. My background includes over a decade in social work, with six years focused on mental health. I have worked with diverse high-risk populations, from residential group homes to those experiencing homelessness. This deep experience allows me to offer a grounded, non-judgmental space. Clients navigating complex challenges or difficult transitions will find an empathetic, practical guide.

Approach

Experience with residential group homes, probation youth, homelessness and hospice shapes a steady, practical rhythm to therapy that centers safety and real-world problem solving. In Sun Valley or online, I keep sessions focused and collaborative—short-term goals, straight talk, and homework that fits your life; with children that often means playful, skill-building activities, and with adults it’s skills practice and narrative work. Between sessions I offer brief check-ins and concrete strategies to practice. Those navigating transitions, trauma, or relationship stress tend to find this approach useful.
