About Us

We are a Waiuku-based mental health organisation serving Auckland and surrounding areas in New Zealand. We support people with chronic pain and offer psychological and diagnostic assessment, mindfulness, and psychoeducation.

Approach

Drawing on two decades working in adult mental health and our Waiuku team's experience with chronic pain, therapy here begins with careful listening and shared goal-setting. Sessions in Auckland or via secure online appointments, in English or Afrikaans, move at a steady, manageable pace with space for reflection. We track symptoms together, practise brief mindfulness and grounding exercises, and test practical skills between sessions so progress feels tangible. This way of working suits people wanting steady, practical steps through pain, low mood or traumatic memories.

Basic Information

Services

Mindfulness: Mindfulness has become a recognised part of pain and mood management programs. It is also an excellent way of managing stress. Learning basic mindfulness and/or meditation skills enhances a person's skill at managing emotions that affect emotions, sense of self-management and pain. Therapeutic services aim to teach self-sufficiency to manage independently. Cognitive Therapy: The ability to become aware and change thought about self, others and experiences increases a person's ability to make sense of and respond to experiences and people in a more informed manner. We all have rules and beliefs we live by. Sometimes these accurately reflect an experience. Sometimes it causes us to respond to experiences and people in well-practice, though unhelpful ways. Being aware of thoughts enables a person to evaluate and adjust so that we do not repeat old, unhelpful habits.
