EMDR Therapist

Self-excavation is the practice of going into what is often avoided—into the shadow, complex, and unfinished parts of ourselves—in service of clarity, agency, and more sustainable relationships. It is not a performance or an aesthetic, but an ethical, accountability-based process: an internal discipline through which we refine how we show up in our lives, our work, and our relationships.

About Me

Hiu Chan is an English-speaking specialist consultant and therapist based in Paris, working with relational trauma, grief, and identity exploration. Her approach centers self-excavation as deliberate practice, supporting clients in engaging the unconscious and reshaping relational patterns. Her work is trauma-informed, intersectional, and attuned to diverse neurotypes and lived experiences.

Approach

I approach therapeutic work with a direct, question-driven, and curiosity-forward style. Sessions attend closely to patterns—how they form, repeat, and are maintained—and may be challenging at times, with the aim of creating meaningful therapeutic impact within each session. The work is collaborative and attuned, with particular care taken when engaging trauma-related material, including attention to pacing, nervous system capacity, and integration.
