Mr Gerry McCarron

Psychotherapist

I have over 25 years of experience delivering cognitive-behavioural psychotherapy, training and supervision.

About Me

With over 25 years of experience, I guide individuals looking to understand and shift unhelpful thinking patterns. As a BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist and MCT-I Registered Metacognitive Therapist, I offer a structured approach. We will explore how your thoughts impact your feelings, using practical strategies to help you manage challenges. This provides a clear, collaborative path for building lasting emotional well-being.

Approach

After many years working with CBT frameworks, I structure sessions around small, testable steps that reveal how thoughts influence feelings and behaviour. I offer English-language appointments online and in London, keeping sessions paced, focused and collaborative, with practical tasks to try between meetings. We use brief experiments, attention-management strategies and skills practice to reduce anxiety, manage anger and soften repetitive thinking, tracking changes week to week. This suits adults who prefer clear, skill-based work aimed at measurable progress.
