About Me

I am a Registered and Licensed Clinical Psychologist (MSc.) with graduate Nursing (BSN) background. As a Clinical Psychologist my passion and desire to offer optimal psychological care and support to my clients is inspired by the many prior years I spent caring for patients in diverse health care facilities and organisation during my formative professional life. My practice is strongly founded and grounded on profound knowledge in general health, psychology and psychiatry that I acquired during my undergraduate training, postgraduate training and internships.

Approach

Holding both mental and physical health in view, I not only focus on your mental health but I also integrate insights into how physical health challenges can impact your emotional state. This comprehensive approach is ideal for anyone who not only has mental health concerns but who will also be glad with the fact that their physical wellbeing was not overlooked or ignored. My strength lies in my ability to competently handle conditions within my scope of mental health practice while effectively utilising the available multidisciplinary linkages and referrals that assures you of optimal outcome in your mental and physical wellbeing. This is made possible with the fact that I am also a graduate nurse with sound knowledge in psychiatric and general health matters. Thus, any impact of physical health on your mental wellbeing and vice versa won't be missed or ignored. So I've got you covered. I am culturally competent and able to conduct therapy in English or Kiswahili or use both languages interchangeably to the comfort of the client. Sessions feel focused yet flexible — I use talking, simple behavioural techniques and experiments, role plays, demonstrations, art or play when it helps, targeted homeworks, and clear check-ins between meetings to track small changes. I pay attention to how body symptoms and daily routines affect mood, adjusting pace to suit children, teens, adults or couples. People seeking thorough, grounded care often find these approaches reassuring.
