About Me
I am a friendly and non-judgmental psychologist with many years of experience working with diverse clients. Everyone is welcome in my rooms irrespective of race, beliefs or sexual orientation. Together we explore your fears, dreams and the journey ahead. Feeling overwhelmed or struggling in your relationships can be tough. I offer individual psychotherapy and couples counseling, creating a friendly space where you can explore these challenges. We can work together to understand your feelings and find clearer paths forward. For couples, we focus on improving communication and strengthening your bond. My aim is to help you feel genuinely supported and heard.
Approach
When life feels overwhelming or relationships feel strained, my sessions are steady and non-threatening, paced to what you need. I work with adults and couples in Bloemfontein and online, switching between Afrikaans and English so we stay clear and connected. One of the roots of optimal emotional health is self-knowledge, personality growth and self-acceptance and -compassion. In session we map patterns, gently process grief or trauma, and explore more functional ways of relating and calming mood and anxiety. This approach often suits people who want a warm space in which they can set the agenda. I integrate insights and skills informed by various psychotherapeutic orientations, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapies. Regarding couples counselling my work is based on the scientific approach and results-driven work of The Gottman Institute.
