Mr Eric Fisher, MA

Clinical Counselors

Hi there, my name is Eric. I'm an empathic, approachable, and competent Canadian Certified Counsellor with over 13 years of experience. I specialize in trauma, substance use, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, grief, and ADHD. Please reach out to me to see if we can collaborate together to best fit your needs.

About Me

I am a Clinical Counselor in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I provide individual and relationship counselling for addiction, anger, ADHD, grief, and personal development. I work with adults and teens to develop clear, practical coping skills.

Approach

I am eclectic with how I approach therapy. I aim to learn what therapeutic approaches will best fit someone's personal needs, personality, goals, and challenges they are facing. I also aim to be flexible with working on goals, such as if a person needs to speak about something that comes up between sessions and not necessarily work on treatment goals, I can very much accommodate.

Basic Information

Services

I meet each person where they are holistically (mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually). I don't use a cookie-cutter approach and will tailor treatment to what fits the client's goals, needs, personality, and concerns. I perform a full bio-psycho-social-spiritual intake and collaborate with the client on creating goals to work on during the therapy.

I'd like to help close the doors that need closing in someone's life, open the doors that need to be opened, and explore rooms that haven't been explored in order to help someone find more direction, lasting change, and fulfillment. I'm flexible in my sessions: if we need to speak about something that has come up aside from what is planned with goals, I am more than welcome to accommodate.

I will use CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), ART (accelerated resolution therapy), DBT-informed strategies (dialectical behaviour therapy), solution-focused strategies, creative arts tools, resiliency training, and mindfulness skills in my practice. My approaches are done in collaboration with the client and if it fits their goals, personal needs, and challenges they are wanting to overcome.
