Mrs Emmily Weldon

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors

I work with clients who have experienced challenges with safety, trust, and control as a result of past trauma. Together, we explore the effects of trauma and how it has shaped their perception of themselves and the world around them.

About Me

I understand how past trauma can profoundly affect your sense of safety, trust, and control. Together, we gently explore how these experiences have shaped your world. This focused process helps you connect with inner resources. We work at your pace to rebuild a foundation of inner security. This creates a path towards reclaiming your sense of self and navigating life with renewed confidence.

Approach

You’ll notice a steady, gentle pace that helps you locate where old hurts show up in everyday life and then try small, manageable shifts. I provide sessions in Des Moines and online, in English, so you can work from whatever setting feels most contained and accessible. In-session we use grounding, mindful awareness and brief psychoeducation paired with practical skills to stabilize between meetings and practice new responses to triggers. This way of working tends to suit adults who prefer collaborative, paced rebuilding of inner steadiness.
