Pre-Licensed Therapist

verified by TherapyRoute

I support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, relationship challenges, perinatal mental health concerns, and emotional overwhelm and life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and welcoming, creating a space where you can feel understood, supported, and safe to show up exactly as you are.

About Me

Not everything that feels heavy can be easily explained…and that’s okay. Sometimes it shows up as distance in your relationships, a shorter fuse, or a sense that something just feels…off. You might be carrying more than you let on, holding it together while wondering when life will start to feel easier. Whether it’s something you’re aware of or something you can’t quite put your finger on… you don’t have to navigate it alone. Hi there, I’m Emilie, a student therapist, here to support you and whatever brings you here. My therapeutic style is down to earth, honest, and rooted in collaboration and respect. Therapy shouldn’t feel intimidating or overly clinical. I offer a space where you can come exactly as you are and go at your own pace. The right fit in therapy truly matters and can make all the difference. I work with individuals and couples across a wide range of challenges and experiences, including anxiety, depression, and life transitions. As a Gottman Level 1 & 2 certified couples counsellor, I support couples in understanding the cycles they get caught in and how to shift them in a way that feels meaningful and lasting. I am also certified in perinatal mental health (fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and loss). While this season is often portrayed as joyful and effortless, the reality can feel very different, lonely at times, overwhelming, and even dark. I support individuals through these deeply personal experiences, including the ones they struggle to put into words. Alongside this work, I bring a personal connection to military and first responder life, which has given me an appreciation for the unique demands and stressors that come with these roles. I’m here to support you through whatever comes with that. You don’t need the perfect words or a clear plan, just a place to start. Let’s go from there!

Approach

I believe therapy should feel collaborative, supportive, and tailored to you. Sessions with me are client-driven, meaning we move at a pace that feels comfortable while focusing on what matters most to you. I adapt my approach and techniques based on your unique needs and value open communication and feedback throughout the process to ensure we are always on the same page and that therapy feels helpful, meaningful, and aligned with your goals.
