Ellen Kouridakis
Licensed Psychologist
“I provide systemic psychotherapy. In my sessions, I blend psychotherapy with education, focusing on negotiation as a key life skill. I specialize in interpersonal issues like divorces, family dynamics, parenting, and crisis management, as well as navigating life changes.”
About Me
Approach
I follow the principles of Systemic Philosophy, according to which everything in the world around us, including people, is interlinked, and these interactions form our reality.
Through open communication, I work with the client to identify the key relationship dynamics within his life and how these dynamics may be contributing to his mental health or personal struggles.
In the therapeutic process, emphasis is also placed on the balance of interpersonal relationships and their impact on life decisions, as well as on the social and cultural influences that shape the person's way of thinking. As a psychotherapist, I am not a neutral observer but an active participant within the therapeutic system. The interaction is continuous and reciprocal and both parties influence and are influenced by each other.
I believe that when the perspective shifts, due to a change in meaning which brings a disruption within the system, it can lead to significant changes internally and externally, as it allows for new insights and the potential for transformation.
I aim to assist individuals in recognizing their patterns of relating, developing strategies to improve their lives, and learning how to negotiate and adapt by building resilience.
Just as Virgil guides Dante through the inferno, the therapist helps his clients to face their own deepest fears, where the truth of their struggles is hidden. This journey is a shared experience of growth and self-discovery.
I myself am in ongoing therapy and supervision for ethical purposes.
