Mrs Elana Rocher

Counseling Psychologist

An experienced and competent psychologist with a special interest in attachment base play therapy, CBT, DBT and SFT.

About Me

I offer a compassionate space, drawing on my special interest in attachment-based play therapy to explore complex feelings. We also use practical techniques from CBT, DBT, and SFT to build new skills. This tailored approach supports your unique needs, whether navigating past experiences or managing current emotions. My aim is to help you find clarity and build resilience.

Approach

Attachment work alongside cognitive and skills-based techniques shapes how I pace sessions: gentle exploration paired with practical structure helps us make sense of patterns and feelings. In Cape Town or online, in English or Afrikaans, sessions move between active moments—play, tasks or experiments—and quieter reflection, with clear goals we may practise between meetings. For children I use developmentally attuned activities and assessments; with adolescents and adults we focus on emotion regulation, problem-solving and relationship patterns. This steady, practical rhythm suits those navigating transitions or family changes.
