I am a Clinical Psychologist / Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist with 27 years of experience with people from around the world. Having lived in India, Southeast Asia, UK and USA has given me a unique perspective in understanding different people and cultures.

About Me

I received my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Maharaja Sayajirao University in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. My graduate training includes psychoanalytic psychotherapy, along with additional qualifications in psychological and psychometric assessment, autism treatment, learning disabilities, and child development. I spent two years with the Harrow Learning Disability Team in London, where I provided clinical services, psychoanalytic/psychodynamic psychotherapy, training, and research support. I later served at the Antarnad Foundation in Ahmedabad as faculty and supervisor at the Institute of Psychotherapy. I have a longstanding interest in the unconscious dynamics that shape individual and organizational systems, and I bring 27 years of experience working with adults, adolescents, and children. My clinical practice spans psychoanalytic psychotherapy, play therapy, couples and family therapy, and group therapy. I have also contributed as staff and consultant at group relations conferences (working conferences) organized by the Indian Institute of Management–Ahmedabad. Having lived in Malaysia, Singapore, the USA, the UK, and India, I consider myself a global citizen, and these experiences have given me a nuanced appreciation of diverse cultures. My deep interest in psychopathological processes has enriched my understanding of the human mind. My specialization in psychoanalytic and psychodynamic psychotherapy, along with extensive clinical work, has allowed me to gain insight into both my own inner world and that of others. My personal analysis and supervision have further strengthened this understanding. I believe that my empathetic nature enables me to connect with others in a way that supports the authentic expression of their emotions.

Approach

My approach to psychoanalytic psychotherapy centers on exploring the unconscious processes that influence a person’s thoughts, emotions, and patterns of relating. I view the therapeutic relationship as a secure and reflective space where deeper conflicts, early experiences, and internalized relationships can surface and be understood with compassion. Through methods such as free association, attention to dreams and fantasies, and the careful interpretation of transference and countertransference, I work to help individuals uncover the roots of their emotional struggles. I see symptoms not as problems to be quickly removed, but as meaningful expressions of unresolved inner dynamics. By bringing these unconscious processes into awareness, I support individuals in developing a richer understanding of themselves, fostering healthier ways of engaging with others, and facilitating lasting emotional growth.
