“Dr Karen Lee Kaplan-Solms Clinical Psychologist (CPsychol, UK), Developmental Specialist , PhD , Psychoanalyst, Part-Founder: Clinical Neuropsychoanalysis. PR no: 8610096/PS0020443 Cell Number: 0027 (0) 82 324 8607 Email: karensolms@mweb.co.za I am a highly-experienced, advanced, inter-disciplinary professional, consulting in Paarl, Rondebosch, at UCT and Online. I offer, psychoanalytic, clinical neuropsychoanalytic, and developmental help, support, supervision, and teaching. I am a psychoanalyst and psychoanalytic psychotherapist in private practice. (I have trained under the auspices of the International Psychoanalytical Association (The British Psychoanalytical Society), and I have been instrumental - together with my colleagues - in the founding of the South African Psychoanalytical Initiative, of the South African Psychoanalytical Association, and of the South African Psychoanalytic Confederation. The South African Psychoanalytical Initiative is now the South African Psychoanalytical Initiative. College of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy). I expedited the establishment of these organizations, in my capacity as a SAPA Training and Supervising Psychoanalyst. Currently, I work comprehensively, with adults of all ages, as well as with parents (including parents-to-be). I consult in Paarl (in the Boland), Rondebosch (in Cape Town) and Online. My holistic approach integrates my experience across various disciplines (for example, the fields of speech, language and hearing pathology and therapy, neuropsychology, clinical neuropsychoanalysis, education, occupational medicine/epidemiology, and oto-neurology). Since 2001, I have volunteered as the Chairperson of a preventative, developmental organization; Youth Empowerment Action spans the developmental phases of conception to young-adulthood, as these phases unfold within the context of family life and social life, and schooling. I focus on inter-generational transfer of experience, trauma and strength, and the prevention of social breakdown in general. I also offer supervision and teaching for all types of work, in all settings, within a conception-to-grave context. I teach psychic development in part, and the meaning of psychoanalytical, developmental insight, for the understanding and treatment of adults. Alongside the above professional involvements, I offer clinical psychoanalytic study groups (theoretical and clinical). I emphasize the integration of theory, practice and internal experience. I also teach and supervise Postgraduate Students and Interns in Neuropsychology at UCT (University of Cape Town), in Clinical Neuropsychoanalysis. That is, in that setting, I am the expert consultant in the field of clinical neurorehabilitation and neurodynamic psychotherapy. Book with Dr Karen Kaplan-Solms ”
