Mrs Claudi Davel

Registered Play Therapist

Certified Play Therapist with a special interest in young children.

About Me

I help young children navigate big feelings and challenging experiences through the power of play. In my sessions, I create a safe, inviting space. Here, children can explore their world and express what's on their minds without needing words. We use toys, art, and storytelling to make sense of worries or changes. This approach helps children build confidence and find their voice in a way that feels natural to them.

Approach

Certified play training shapes a gentle, exploratory way of working where small, child-led choices guide each session toward understanding. In Pretoria I offer face-to-face sessions in English and Afrikaans, paced to fit under-fives and the parents who join them; appointments often alternate between focused playtime and short reflections with caregivers. I follow the child’s interests—sand, puppets, drawing or story enactment—to surface feelings and practice new responses, then help parents translate those discoveries at home. Families navigating transitions or behaviour shifts tend to find this approach reassuring.
