Mr Buyani Dlomo

Clinical Psychologist

I am a registered Clinical Psychologist with the HPCSA. I have a preference for working with a psychodynamic-orientated approach. I have also have experience with other modalities such as CBT and DBT. I have a keen interest in working with children and the adolescent population. I also provide play-therapy.

About Me

I offer a safe, understanding space for children and adolescents navigating life's challenges. For younger clients, play therapy provides a natural way to explore big feelings. My psychodynamic approach helps us understand underlying patterns. I also integrate practical tools from modalities like CBT and DBT. My goal is to support your child or teenager to build resilience and find their unique voice.

Approach

Therapy here moves between reflective conversation and hands-on activities so younger clients can express difficult emotions naturally. In Johannesburg and online, in English, sessions are paced to each child's comfort, with short check-ins, playful interventions, and clear skill practice between meetings for teens dealing with anxiety, loss or relationship strain. I track shifts in how your child relates to feelings and others, adjusting the balance of exploration and practical tools as needed. Families seeking steady, thoughtful support often find this way of working helpful.
