I offer trauma-informed, compassionate counselling to individuals, parents and families who are navigating life’s challenges, from anxiety, stress and grief to complex caregiving and life transitions. I work collaboratively in a non-judgemental way that acknowledges your strengths and unique personal experiences. My practice embraces diversity, flexibility and accessibility, with in-person and online options as well as reduced-fee places for those who need it.

About Me

I studied a Bachelor of Counselling as a mature age student at the University of Notre Dame Australia. I am a certified practising counsellor with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). Prior to studying at Notre Dame I worked for Fremantle Foundation facilitating their grant-making activities and collective giving group - Impact100 Fremantle. I have 3 adolescent children and a dog named Lucy.

Approach

Trauma Informed Practice I acknowledge that trauma is common. As an approach it is holistic, empowering, strengths-focused, collaborative and reflective and promotes safety. Integrative Integrative counselling encompasses the whole person, taking into account individual mental, physical and emotional needs. It draws on techniques and understandings from a variety of modalities to create an individual approach for each person. Interpersonal Process An integrative and relational approach which focuses on the therapeutic relationship formed in counselling as a means for understanding and change. Critical and Ecological Considers the political and structural impacts to mental health including impacts of socio-economic, cultural and other contextual factors on peoples lives and the social determinants of wellbeing. Understands that individual wellbeing is predicated on that of the family, community and societal conditions.
