Ms Avril de Beer

Registered Social Worker

A person-centred approach to individuals experiencing loss and grief due to major life changes, bereavement and life-threatening diseases.

About Me

This Registered Social Worker supports individuals navigating the profound challenges of loss and grief. They work with those experiencing bereavement, life-threatening diseases, or significant life changes. Offering a person-centred space, they help clients explore their unique feelings and experiences at their own pace. This gentle approach fosters resilience and understanding, helping clients find their path through difficult emotions during times of deep change.

Approach

When sorrow follows big transitions or serious illness, I focus on meeting you where you are and shaping each session around what feels manageable that day. In my Centurion office I offer a calm, conversational space in Afrikaans or English, with attention to steady pacing, small practical steps and reflective moments between meetings. We work collaboratively to name complicated feelings, hold difficult memories and build routines that ease daily life. People coping with bereavement or caring for someone with dementia often find this steady, paced way of working helpful.
