Psychotherapist (Gestalt)

verified by TherapyRoute

Therapy is a safe space for a person to get to know themselves, become aware of what holds them back, speak of problems they are facing and grow. Whether what the person brings is small or big, as a therapist I focus on providing that safe space and supporting the person in their healing journey.

About Me

I am a therapist that works with adults of any age (20+), including the elderly. I provide both face to face therapy as well as online therapy for those who find it more convenient. As the role of a therapist entails, I make sure to provide a non judgemental and safe space for any person that is facing problems, big or small. I work with those that struggle with general themes such as navigating life's challenges, managing emotional health and improving interpersonal relationships. In addition to this I also work with those individuals that experience anxiety, panic attacks, stress, depression, grief, emotional difficulties, self-esteem issues, trauma and so on. I also work with those individuals that do not have any particular emergent issues but wish to speak with someone they trust for self-exploration and growth.

Approach

My approach is Gestalt Psychotherapy. Gestalt is a creative modality that explores the past, present and future. It is an approach that focuses on building trust between therapist and client and slowly identifies what is currently highlighted in the person's life that needs attention. My approach is versatile as it sees each individual as a human being of unique experience. No two people are the same, and thus no therapy session or approach within the therapeutic journey will be the same. It is an approach that matches the individual in the therapy room, and as a therapist, it allows me to work with whoever needs my support. Whether the person would like to explore a dream, past traumas, emotions, thoughts, or simply to share their life experience, the approach I use in therapy works well with all of them. As a therapist, I do not aim to fix a person, as that is not the aim of therapy. I provide a space for reflection and support the person to come into touch with their own capabilities to overcome whatever challenge they're facing. Human beings are not a broken object that needs fixing or labelling, but a unique being capable of reflecting and working on themselves to develop further. Ultimately, I aim to support individuals in their healing journey.
