Mr David Wilson

Clinical Psychologist

Psychoanalytically grounded practice resulting in a unique style through 30 years experience involving all psychological issues.

About Me

I offer a unique, psychoanalytically grounded practice, drawing on thirty years of experience. My approach helps you explore a wide range of psychological issues, understanding the deeper patterns influencing your life. This method is ideal for those seeking profound insight into persistent challenges. Together, we can uncover what truly shapes your experiences, moving towards lasting clarity and well-being.

Approach

Sessions unfold as a steady, exploratory dialogue where attention to slipped words, recurring feelings and relational themes guides us toward clearer understanding. I work from Johannesburg and online in English, adapting pace and focus to suit children, adolescents, adults and older clients, and I sometimes set short reflective tasks between meetings to deepen insight. When anxiety, addiction, mood or identity concerns emerge we examine habitual reactions, impulse and meaning, using interpretation alongside practical framing to alter daily choices. This approach tends to suit those seeking thoughtful, lasting change rather than quick fixes.
