Suicide Hotlines and Crisis Lines in Kazakhstan
❝Suicide hotlines and crisis lines in Kazakhstan, with every number checked at source. In an emergency, dial 103, 102 or 101.❞
IF YOU ARE IN CRISIS, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST. If you are in immediate danger or thinking about harming yourself, get help now. In Kazakhstan, dial 103 for an ambulance, 102 for the police, or 101 for fire and rescue. 112 is the single emergency number and reaches the same rescue service. You can also go to the emergency department of your nearest hospital. For readers outside Kazakhstan, there is a worldwide list of emergency numbers and a list of helplines and suicide hotlines worldwide.
A helpline is a place to talk to someone when you are struggling, before or instead of a crisis. The lines on this page are answered by state contact-centre consultants, helpline counsellors or health staff, depending on the service. If you are not in Kazakhstan, the worldwide list is organised by country.
What you share is kept private in almost all cases; if a counsellor believes a life is in immediate danger, they may arrange urgent help. Only one helpline below is declared free by government decree, so what each service publishes about cost is set out beside it.
TherapyRoute is a directory. We do not answer calls or messages ourselves, so please use the numbers below rather than contacting us if you need someone now.
CRISIS LINES, SUICIDE HOTLINES, AND HELPLINES IN KAZAKHSTAN
Each number below was checked in August 2026 at the operating organisation's own website, or at an official Kazakhstan government page that publishes the service.

Therapy should be personal. Therapists listed on TherapyRoute are qualified, independent, and free to answer to you – no scripts, algorithms, or company policies.
Find Your TherapistKazakhstan has no national mental health helpline for adults. The two national lines below are scoped: 111 is for questions of family and the rights of women and children, and 150 is for children and young people. Almaty and Astana each run a round-the-clock city crisis line, but other cities' equivalents are not published anywhere we could verify. If you are an adult outside those two cities, 111 answers around the clock and gives psychological help within its remit, and the emergency numbers above answer everywhere at any hour. That is a gap in what is available, not a reason to wait.

Emergency numbers, and what each one is for
Kazakhstan publishes its emergency numbers in a government decree, which lists the services that are free to call from any connection.
Ambulance: 103
Police: 102
Fire and rescue: 101
Single emergency number: 112
The decree adds that mobile subscribers can also reach these numbers by text message, in both directions, free of charge. There is no national three-digit mental health line in Kazakhstan; 111, below, is the closest thing to one.
Контакт-центр «111», the national family, women and children line
Контакт-центр "111" по вопросам семьи, защиты прав женщин и детей is a state contact centre for questions of family and the protection of the rights of women and children. It has been operated by the Government for Citizens State Corporation since 16 October 2023.
Know its scope before you call. Its consultants give information, organisational help and psychological help on family matters and the rights of women and children, and they route calls that belong to other services, including the emergency ones above. The operator describes its work as "консультировать, оказывать психологическую помощь гражданам через различные каналы коммуникации: телефонные звонки, аудио-звонки, текстовые диалоги", that is, to advise and give psychological help to citizens through telephone calls, audio calls and text dialogues.
The line is national, and it is the only helpline in the government decree's list of numbers that are free to call. The ministerial rules governing it state: "Номер телефона "111" контакт-центра является бесплатным", the 111 number is free. The same rules say it answers "на государственном и русском языках по выбору обратившегося", in Kazakh or Russian at the caller's choice.
Tel: 111
Hours: round the clock. In the operator's own words, "Контакт-центр 111 оказывает услуги круглосуточно, без перерывов, выходных и праздничных дней", without breaks, weekends or public holidays.
Cost: free, by government decree and by the rules quoted above.
The national helpline for children and youth, 150
Национальная телефонная линия доверия для детей и молодежи, in Kazakh Балалар мен жастарға арналған ұлттық сенім телефон желісі, is the national helpline for children and young people. It is run by the Союз кризисных центров Казахстана, the Union of Crisis Centres of Kazakhstan.
The Kazakhstan Bureau of National Statistics publishes it as "Национальная телефонная линия доверия для детей и молодежи (психологическая помощь – можно позвонить или написать) – 150, WhatsApp: +7 708 106-08-10", a line offering psychological help that you can call or write to. Its scope is children and youth.
One honesty note. The operator's own website is no longer online, so this entry rests on the government page above rather than on the operator. The number is published by an official body, but we could not confirm the line's day-to-day operating state with the organisation itself.
Tel: 150
WhatsApp: +7 708 106-08-10
Hours: not published. The government page that carries the number states no hours.
Cost: not published. Unlike 111, the number 150 does not appear in the government decree listing calls that are free, so do not assume the call costs nothing.
Almaty: the city crisis line, round the clock
The Центр психического здоровья, Almaty's city mental health centre, publishes a crisis helpline on its own contacts page under the heading "Телефон доверия в кризисных ситуациях", a helpline for crisis situations. This is a service of the city of Almaty, not a national line.
Tel: +7 (727) 228 87 87
Tel: +7 (708) 983 28 63
Tel: 13-03, published by the centre as its call centre number.
Hours: the centre's page marks the line "Круглосуточно 24/7", round the clock.
Cost: not published.
Astana: the city crisis line, round the clock
The Городской центр психического здоровья, Astana's city mental health centre, runs a crisis psychologist office with its own helpline. The centre's page describes the line as being for "экстренной анонимной круглосуточной психологической помощи населению", emergency, anonymous, round-the-clock psychological help to the population. It states that the service works with children, adolescents, young people and adults. This is a service of the city of Astana, not a national line.
Tel: 8-7172-547603
Hours: round the clock, in the centre's own words quoted above.
Cost: not published.
While you are waiting to be answered
A line that is open can still be busy, and the two national lines have set scopes. If you are waiting, try to stay with someone you trust, or ask someone to sit with you until the call connects.
If you have anything near you that you could use to harm yourself, put it somewhere harder to reach, or ask someone else to hold it for you. Distance and time both help.
If waiting is not possible, dial 103 or 112, or go to a hospital emergency department. You do not need an appointment and you do not need to explain yourself well.
If you are worried about someone else
Ask them directly. Asking someone whether they are thinking of suicide does not put the idea there, and it often comes as a relief to be asked plainly.
Listen more than you advise. You do not need the right words, and you are not expected to fix anything.
If they are willing, offer to sit with them while they call one of the numbers above, or to make the call together. If they are in immediate danger, treat it as you would any medical emergency.
Supporting someone through this is heavy, and it is reasonable to want support of your own. The same lines are open to you, within the scopes stated beside each one.
For services in other countries, see the list of helplines and suicide hotlines worldwide.
