Part 3 - Using your Blog
TherapyRoute

❝Use your blog to share your ideas and writing and bring traffic to your site.❞
In "Part 1" and "Part 2" we explored the creation of a basic listing tailored to your needs and the transformation of this listing into a detailed mini-site that captures attention and equips potential clients with essential information. However, there's another avenue to enhance your online presence, establish yourself as an expert in your field, and increase awareness about your services – the blog section.
Within TherapyRoute's mini-sites, you have the privilege of a dedicated blog section where you can regularly share captivating essays and write-ups on therapeutic subjects of interest. What sets the TherapyRoute blog apart is its unique features, allowing you to:
Therapy should be personal. Therapists listed on TherapyRoute are qualified, independent, and free to answer to you – no scripts, algorithms, or company policies.
Find Your Therapist
- • Show your article to professionals, to the general public, or both.
- • Publish an article on your mini-site, on the TherapyRoute website, or both.
- • Select the area in which your article should be shown. This means that TherapyRoute can include area-specific content and display it only in that city, province or country.
-
To post an article on your blog or on TherapyRoute, you will need to select 'Add an Article', to the right of the 'Mini-Site' tab.
Your blog can be a powerful and engaging way to attract visitors to your profile:
- • A blog post included on the TherapyRoute site can have a wide reach - it may be featured on the home page and shared on TherapyRoute's social media.
- • You can also share your blog post on social media and any other website - giving you the power to drive traffic to your profile.
- • Your article may be included in the TherapyRoute Newsletter. A selection of the best articles (from the 'for professionals' section) is included in TherapyRoute Quarterly. This is sent to thousands of mental health professionals worldwide.
A note of caution: Make sure that anything you write is informative and establishes you as an expert. Avoid writing that sounds like marketing!
Blogging is a much more time-consuming option than simply populating the sections of your profile. If you decide to go this route, make sure that you don’t duplicate content that is already on your website.
Blogging keeps your mini-site active. This appeals to Google and other search engines, as they prioritize "fresh" content over stagnant sites. It also increases the number of places from which readers can click through to your profile, which again increases the likelihood of search engines ranking and showing it.
