Pandemic and its lessons
❝The stress pandemic brings into people's lives and the acceptance of uncertainty and changing situations. Learning about ourselves and observing the beauty from our homes. The struggle is real, but can we look beyond the pandemic and create simple joys.❞
Resolutions were laid, plans were discussed with the hope of executing solo trips, meeting family- taking trips with family members, meeting friends, and making plans to meet more often and to rejoice 2020. It all started on a high note with friends, family, and career to make the most of it.
Early 2020 Covid-19 hit us with lockdown with no physical contact with anybody and confined to our homes. It was easy to adapt to work from home as the travel time reduced for most of us. Making our home as offices and trying to balance working from home

Find Your TherapistMissing office space, colleagues, not having a routine, and adapting to endless lockdown was difficult to handle. Working hours moved from 6 hours to 8 hours and 8 hours to 10 hours; for a few, it was a never-ending process.
However, lockdown came with a few perks -
- Confined at home with limited supplies led to innovation in the kitchen with family-helped in improving family bonds-working out with family, spending time with children, and household chores.
- Connecting with nature by identifying birds in our balconies, the mango trees bearing fruit in the neighbourhood, which went unnoticed most of the time.
- Starting home gardening to keep up with being frustrated from endless lockdowns and a never-ending pandemic.
- Connecting to family members, friends, and peers through online platforms
- Playing games on apps, video platform with family and friends
- Considering therapy and trying sessions, addressing those elephants in our minds. I had new clients telling me that this is something they want to focus on their emotional well-being.
- Clearing clutter at home and mind by creating office space at home, meditation area in the rooms, and working out in the living room.
It gets difficult to work our way around the restricted spaces. However, it helps us build our resilience with the changing environment. Break our patterns of having a space for every activity of the day and fit into the space available. Having the mind and space to create that artwork, play that instrument (not touched for the longest time), start those projects which we wish to start when we have the time.
Stories of the pandemic will be narrated for many generations, like how we know about other natural calamities and many other challenges faced by the world at large. We are in this together and will pass through this stage.
