❝Therapy in Warsaw can cost anywhere from free public services to over 740 PLN per session in private practice. This guide breaks down typical prices, cost differences across the city, and practical ways to find affordable support.❞
What therapy costs in Warsaw in 2026
Under Poland's NFZ, a psychiatrist can be seen without any referral, and since 17 September 2025 adults can also see a psychologist without a referral at NFZ-contracted facilities. NFZ care is free at the point of use. Privately, practices in Warsaw that publish their rates charge about 220 to 300 zł for a 50-minute session.
These are guiding estimates. Practitioners set their own fees.
Therapy should be personal. Therapists listed on TherapyRoute are qualified, independent, and free to answer to you – no scripts, algorithms, or company policies.
Find Your TherapistThe no-referral rule
Poland's patient-rights guidance is explicit that psychiatric treatment needs no skierowanie: register at an NFZ-contracted mental health clinic in Warsaw and be seen. The September 2025 change extended direct access to psychologists at contracted facilities, and the mental health centres (CZP) take people without referral with first contact within 72 hours of registration. Some services beyond that, including some psychotherapy pathways, still run on referral, so ask when you register.
The private market
Waiting times at NFZ providers are the known constraint, and private practice in Warsaw is the paid alternative: fees set practice by practice, no Polish body publishes a schedule. Pages quoting a standard Warsaw session price are quoting themselves; the reliable figure is the practice's own published rate, like those below.
What practices charge
Among Warsaw practices listing their prices: KuLepszemu publishes 240 zł for 50 minutes, or 300 zł with its most senior therapists, and OCPC lists rates from 220 zł to 350 zł by named therapist. These are the practices' own published rates, read on 28 July 2026; they are examples, not a survey, and the working range they suggest is 220 to 300 zł for an individual 50-minute session, with senior or certified therapists at the top of it. Asking about reduced rates costs nothing.
