In Switzerland, psychotherapy is a federally recognised profession, and the register that proves recognition is PsyReg, run by the Federal Office of Public Health. It carries federally recognised psychotherapists alongside recognised child and adolescent psychologists. The consequence is concrete rather than formal: only a practitioner listed in PsyReg may bill basic health insurance for psychotherapy, so the register settles a funding question and a credential question at once.
