Find a Therapist In Suriname

Suriname has 1 therapist listed on TherapyRoute.

The list on this page is short, and it may not hold anyone who suits you. Two things below still apply. One is who is entitled to register as a therapist in this country. The other is what shapes the cost of a session here.

Suriname's state health fund is the Stichting Staatsziekenfonds, known as SZF. Its compulsory arm covers state employees, state pensioners and people on state support, with their families. SZF publishes the list of private paramedics affiliated with it.

Psychologists are one of the categories on that list. A person settles with the provider first and claims the money back from SZF afterwards. A claim needs the original itemised receipts. It also needs a referral letter where one is required.

Licensing arrangements for therapy differ a great deal from one country to the next, and for Suriname TherapyRoute cannot point you to a national register to check a practitioner against. Ask a practitioner what training they completed, what title they use, and whether they hold a registration anywhere, then ask to see it.
