Oslo
In Norway the check is a single national one. The Directorate of Health runs the health personnel registry, and a psychologist practising lawfully holds an authorisation recorded there against a personal registry number. Asking for that number is an ordinary request rather than a pointed one, and it is the question the registry exists to answer.
For a counselling or therapy title held outside the authorised health professions, this registry is not the check that answers. You can look up a psychologist in the Helsepersonellregisteret.
