Find a Therapist In Jamaica

The list on this page is short, and it may not hold anyone who suits you. Two things below still apply. One is who is entitled to register as a therapist in this country. The other is what shapes the cost of a session here.

Jamaica abolished user fees at its public health facilities. The Ministry of Health and Wellness says that policy stands. Charges apply to named categories, among them private patients and people who do not live in Jamaica.

Jamaicans outside those categories use public health services without charge. Where charges do apply, the hospital does not set them. They are approved by Cabinet and gazetted in the National Health Services (Fees) Regulations.

Mental health clinics run by the ministry operate across the island. They provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management free of charge.

Licensing arrangements for therapy differ a great deal from one country to the next, and for Jamaica TherapyRoute cannot point you to a national register to check a practitioner against. Ask a practitioner what training they completed, what title they use, and whether they hold a registration anywhere, then ask to see it.
