Therapy fees in Argentina are set by each practice, so what a psychologist or psychiatrist charges depends on their qualifications, the length of the session and where they work. Therapists generally set what they charge with their own cost of living in mind, and fees tend to track local income levels.
If the fee is beyond your means, ask about a sliding scale based on income, and look at community mental health services, university training clinics and group sessions, which cost less than individual ones.

Registration and licensing
Argentina registers its health professions provincially as well as federally. A psychologist practises on a matrícula, and the province where they work issues the provincial one, while the federal health registry held by the Ministerio de Salud records the national matrícula.
A psychiatrist is a doctor and holds a matrícula in the same way. Ask which matrícula a practitioner holds and which province issued it. Ley 23.277 puts the title licenciado en psicología behind a psychologist's matrícula, and bars that psychologist from prescribing medication. It issues no psicoterapeuta title, so ask which registered profession sits behind that word.
