I work with people who may function well on the outside but privately feel stuck in patterns that insight alone has not changed. I work internationally in English, Slovenian, Serbo-Croatian, and Spanish, and offer long-term psychoanalytic psychotherapy, focused therapeutic work, couples therapy, and executive coaching.

About Me

I am a psychoanalyst under supervision, executive coach, and writer working internationally between Vienna and Lisbon. I work with individuals, couples, and professionals who may appear capable, successful, or high-functioning on the outside, yet privately feel caught in patterns they cannot fully change. These patterns often appear in relationships, sexuality, identity, emotional regulation, burnout, addiction, or a persistent sense of inner conflict. Many of the people I work with have already developed insight. They may understand parts of their history, behaviour, or symptoms, but something still repeats. My work focuses on what remains unresolved beneath the surface: early relational experiences, trauma, attachment patterns, and the unconscious ways we protect ourselves, seek love, avoid pain, or organize our lives around survival. Clients often describe the work as precise, direct, and deeply transformative. It is not always easy, but it is oriented toward lasting internal change rather than short-term symptom management. You can find out more or contact me for an initial consultation at zoyamesaric.com.

Approach

My approach is psychoanalytic, trauma-informed, relational, and somatic. I focus on identifying patterns that repeat beyond conscious awareness — in relationships, decision-making, emotional reactions, sexuality, identity, and self-experience. Together, we explore not only what is happening now, but how these patterns were formed and why they may have once been necessary. Rather than offering quick techniques or surface-level solutions, the work aims to understand and process what has remained unresolved at a deeper emotional, relational, and bodily level. I pay particular attention to the connection between trauma, attachment, sexuality, identity, and performance. This is especially important for people who have learned to function, achieve, or care for others while remaining disconnected from parts of themselves. The process is structured, collaborative, and tailored to the individual. The aim is not simply to feel better for a moment, but to create meaningful and lasting change in how you relate to yourself, others, and your life.
