Wendy Galyen, MSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

I believe that everyone deserves a safe place to heal, grow, and create a life that aligns with their values. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board Certified Telemental Health Provider with more than a decade of clinical experience, I specialize in helping children, teens, college students, adults, couples, and families navigate life's most challenging seasons. Clients often seek my support for anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, life transitions, stress, grief, trauma, parenting challenges, and personal growth. I also have extensive experience working with student athletes, high achievers, healthcare professionals, and individuals pursuing financial independence while striving to maintain emotional well being. My goal is to provide compassionate, practical, evidence based care that helps clients gain insight, develop effective coping skills, strengthen relationships, and move toward lasting change. I strive to create a warm, collaborative environment where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered throughout their therapeutic journey. www.thriveforlifecounseling.com

About Me

I founded Thrive for Life Counseling because I believe quality mental health care should be accessible, personalized, and grounded in genuine human connection. I provide virtual counseling to clients across multiple states, allowing individuals and families to receive support from the comfort and privacy of their own homes. My counseling style is warm, engaging, and collaborative. I value authenticity and strive to meet each client where they are without judgment. Whether someone is experiencing a specific crisis or simply wants to build a healthier, more fulfilling life, I tailor treatment to their unique goals, strengths, and circumstances. Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and continually expanding my clinical knowledge through education and professional development. These experiences help me appreciate the many roles people balance and the challenges that come with pursuing meaningful lives.

Approach

I believe therapy should be practical, individualized, and focused on meaningful change. Rather than using a one size fits all approach, I draw from a variety of evidence based treatment modalities to meet each client's unique needs and goals. My work integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, strengths based interventions, mindfulness practices, and family systems perspectives when appropriate. I emphasize helping clients better understand patterns of thinking, emotions, behaviors, and relationships while developing concrete strategies they can apply outside of session. Clients describe me as compassionate, approachable, direct when needed, and encouraging. Together, we identify realistic goals, celebrate progress, and navigate setbacks with curiosity rather than criticism. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I believe lasting change occurs when clients feel safe, heard, and actively engaged in their own growth.
