Dr Tshepo Tlali

Counseling Psychologist

Psychodymically oriented therapist with special interest in trauma (adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse), personality disorders

About Me

I support adults grappling with the lasting effects of childhood trauma or complex personality challenges. As a psychodynamically oriented therapist, I help you explore how past experiences shape your present. We work together to uncover underlying patterns and make sense of deep-seated feelings. This collaborative process offers profound insight. It helps those navigating difficult emotional landscapes find clarity and lasting change.

Approach

I listen for recurring moments and bodily reactions that map out old relational stories, then gently name them so they become manageable. In my Johannesburg consulting room I offer sessions in English, Sesotho, seTswana, isiXhosa or isiZulu, with careful pacing and space to reflect between meetings. Therapy blends focused reflection, somatic grounding and targeted assessment to help you understand patterns that fuel current difficulties. People who have survived early abuse or struggle with identity and relationships often find this steady, curious approach useful.
