Barrie.
I consider life a forever learning and evolving journey with various hurdles and diverse experiences, which aligns with the philosophy of positive psychology (i.e., well-being is a result of learning), person-centred theories, and strength-based approaches. We might not have much control over what has happened in the past, but we can learn to change the way we react to similar events, limit the aftermath, and move on with a lighter pack, but a richer mind.
Working in both acute and long-term healthcare settings for more than six years, I specialize in supporting people with chronic conditions, grieving for loss, and difficult life transitions. As a woman from a developing country, a visible minority, and a first-generation immigrant, I empathetically pay extra attention to holistic views, cultural sensitivity, marginalization, gender biases, and oppression. I offer therapies at a competitive rate using sliding scales. I also welcome clients who prefer speaking Mandarin.

CORE SERVICES:
When days feel overwhelming or painful, I offer steady, compassionate collaboration that helps you uncover what’s most pressing and build manageable steps toward relief. Whether we meet in Barrie or online, in English or Mandarin, sessions move at your pace with room for gentle reflection and practical practice between meetings. We focus on grounding, clear problem-solving, and advocacy so you can carry tools into work, family life, or illness management. This way of working often fits people seeking practical change paired with steady emotional support.
Exploring the unknown brings me the most joy and stimulates me to keep going forward, which makes me find exhilarating to know individual’s lived experience and each unique perspective and situation. The connection and interaction also enrich my internal world, broaden my worldview, deepen my understanding of the universe, and inspire my intuition through reflection.
I offer a low-cost rate. I also provide therapies at a competitive rate using sliding scales.
I am on a couple of self-challenges this year: to be self-sufficient with home-made noodles and breads, to get abs, to limit take-outs once per month, to soak my feet before bed, and many more. They were my ambitions for the last five years and continuously to be.
Life has ups and downs, as do our emotions, physical health, and mental state. Therapy is one of many ways to help regulate our psychological well-being. We need to be heard, valued, and connected.
