Working as part of transdisciplinary therapy teams, our qualified psychologists support people who experience social, emotional and mental health difficulties. They help people better understand the issues they're facing and provide support and strategies to help them improve their overall wellbeing. Some of the issues our psychologists can provide support for include:
· Mental health issues (e.g. anxiety, depression, paranoia)
· Low self-esteem
· Grief and loss
· Addiction
· Anger management
· Challenging behaviours
· School refusal
· Relationships and conflict
· Social isolation
· Life transitions (e.g. puberty, leaving school, moving out of home)
Our psychology services are available to people of all ages with Autism Spectrum Disorder, intellectual, neurological and physical disabilities. Services can be provided at home, school, in our clinics and community settings. Support is not only provided to the person with disability, but also to the important people in their life. This can include family, carers and educators. Some of the approaches our psychologists may use as part of service delivery include:
· Positive behaviour support
· Emotional regulation
· Psychological assessment
· Cognitive behavioural therapy
· Mindfulness
· Positive parenting
· Collaboration with other health professionals and agencies
