Therapeutic Counselor

For people who can already see their patterns clearly, but find that understanding them hasn’t necessarily changed them.

About Me

I’m a Somatic Consultant and developer of the Psychosomatic Restoration Method™ (PSR). Many people who find my work have already done a lot of therapy or personal work. They understand their history and can often see their patterns clearly, but still find themselves living inside the same responses. I work particularly with chronic physical symptoms, burnout, repeating relational patterns, chronic self-override, and the ways survival strategies continue to live in the body long after they are needed. Rather than treating these patterns as problems to fix, I’m interested in what they may be responding to, protecting, or communicating. Sometimes the response that makes the least sense in the present makes perfect sense when we understand what it learned to protect. My work is online and available internationally.

Approach

Understanding a pattern and changing it are not the same thing. Your body can respond before your thinking mind has caught up. You might know that you’re safe and still brace. Know that you want to say no and hear yourself say yes. Understand exactly why a relationship affects you and still find yourself repeating the same response. In our sessions, we slow that process down and pay attention to what is happening in real time: sensations, impulses, emotions, protective parts and what happens between us in the relationship. Rather than deciding in advance what needs to change, we become curious about how the pattern is organised, what it is protecting, and whether it still fits the present moment. This creates space for the body to experience something different rather than simply developing more insight. My approach integrates Somatic Experiencing®, parts work and relational work through the Psychosomatic Restoration Method™.

Services

There are two ways to work with me: Strategic Deep Dive — 90 minutes A focused consultation for exploring a particular symptom or repeating pattern, understanding what may be maintaining it, and identifying a way forward. Ongoing Somatic Work Structured 1:1 sessions for patterns that benefit from repetition, practice and a longer period of integration. My work is particularly suited to people who don’t necessarily need more information about themselves. They need somewhere to notice what happens when the pattern is actually happening and practise something different.
