Ms Tanuja Gadre

Counselor

An experienced, passionate BIPOC counsellor with a trauma-informed, strength-based approach to counselling operating from an anti-oppressive framework. Strive to meet every client where they are at and aim for a co-created therapeutic relationship. I use tools and techniques from CBT, DBT, Somatic & Gottman Approaches.

About Me

As an experienced BIPOC counsellor, I offer a warm, trauma-informed space. We'll collaborate, drawing on your strengths, to navigate life's challenges from an anti-oppressive perspective. I meet you exactly where you are. Using somatic techniques, for instance, we can explore how your body holds stress, finding practical ways forward. My aim is a truly co-created therapeutic relationship.

Approach

Sessions move at your pace, combining gentle body-based noticing with practical CBT and DBT tools so you can spot patterns and build small, usable shifts. In person in Richmond or online, I pay attention to cultural and relational threads—how family, language, identity and history shape what shows up—and turn that into clear experiments to try between meetings. Couples and individuals often practice short, embodied exercises and communication moves that shift tension into choice. People facing cross-cultural transitions, burnout or trauma recovery tend to find this way of working helpful.
