Mr Stephan Nel, MA

Clinical Psychologist

I aim to work with clients to gain understanding of themselves, by accompanying them in their therapeutic journey of self discovery where they can realize their choices as to discover meaning and purpose in their lives, even in the face of adversity.

About Me

I offer a supportive space for you to explore your inner world and gain deeper self-understanding. We can gently unpack experiences together, helping you realise new choices and discover meaning in your life. This collaborative journey allows you to navigate challenges with greater clarity and purpose. Clients appreciate the calm, reflective space, fostering resilience and a stronger connection to their authentic self.

Approach

Alongside that exploration, I focus on noticing patterns and small shifts so you can recognise practical choices in daily life. In Cape Town or online, in English or Afrikaans, sessions move at a steady, reflective pace—sometimes quiet and observational, other times active with exercises, feedback and brief between-session tasks to strengthen new responses. I combine careful assessment with compassionate challenge to help you practice safer relationships with thoughts, cravings and painful memories. This way of working tends to suit people seeking steady, grounded change through clear, collaborative steps.
