Mrs Silan Derin, MA

Associate Psychoanalyst

My role for your journey is to create and encourage a non-judgmental, safe space for you to explore and discover yourself freely. My approach is psychodynamic, somatic focused and trauma informed.

About Me

I am here to help you navigate your unique path of self-discovery. My aim is to build a truly non-judgmental, safe space for you to explore thoughts and feelings freely. We can work together at your own pace, allowing you to uncover your insights and strengths. This approach is ideal for those ready to understand themselves more deeply and find clarity. My goal is to support your journey, fostering genuine personal growth.

Approach

As a psychoanalyst in training, my therapeutic work is grounded in a psychodynamic perspective with a strong emphasis on resource activation. I value this approach for its focus on self-understanding, reflective capacity, and the central role of relationships in psychological well-being. Over the years, I have developed a particular interest in attachment theory and relational dynamics, an area I continued to deepen through my research. Throughout my Clinical Hypnotherapy training, I have developed an integrative therapeutic approach that thoughtfully weaves relaxation-based and somatically oriented techniques into my work. When appropriate, these methods support mindfulness, deepen body awareness, and enhance emotional regulation - allowing psychological and embodied experiences to inform one another in a reciprocal and meaningful way. Furthermore, my clinical experience has fostered a strong focus on working with trauma, grief, and loss. I approach these areas with sensitivity and care, supporting clients in navigating complex experiences at their own pace. Here, my work ethic is guided by three core values: deep and attentive listening, professional integrity, and clinical intuition. As a curious, committed, and multilingual psychotherapist, I engage in ongoing learning and reflection to continually refine my practice. I am dedicated to providing a safe and respectful space, that honours diversity and individual lived experience.
