Mrs Sarah Pike

Licensed Clinical Social Workers

My primary theoretical and practical modality is Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, underscored by the Person-Centered Approach. I tailor each therapy process and approach to best meet my clients' needs. Other modalities I use include Narrative Therapy, Family Systems Theory, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Mindfulness.

About Me

I offer a flexible space where we can explore what truly matters to you. Drawing on Psychodynamic and Person-Centred approaches, I help you understand deeper patterns. We also weave in practical tools, like Mindfulness, to navigate daily challenges. This tailored method is ideal for individuals and families. It offers both insight into your past and clear strategies for moving forward.

Approach

Sessions begin with gentle curiosity about what’s happening now and what’s shaped it, then move into focused, collaborative exploration that balances reflection with small, practical experiments. I meet English-speaking adolescents and adults in Cape Town and online, adapting tempo and check-ins to suit you. In session we notice recurring themes, explore relationship patterns, and practice grounding or brief between-session steps so changes land in daily life. This paced, attentive approach tends to suit people navigating transitions, anxiety, grief or trauma.
