Ms Sandra Hewitt-Parsons

Art Therapist

I am an experienced body-focused, trauma informed psychotherapist who works through the expressive arts with those living with trauma-related issues.

About Me

I understand that trauma often leaves feelings stuck, beyond words. My body-focused expressive arts approach helps you gently explore and release these difficult experiences. We might use drawing or movement to process emotions hard to articulate. This supportive approach is ideal for anyone finding traditional talk therapy challenging. It offers a safe, non-verbal way to heal and integrate.

Approach

I guide sessions through gentle sensing and creative experimentation, allowing sensations, images and movement to show what words cannot. In my Corner Brook office and via secure online sessions in English, we move at a steady, attuned pace—short practices, reflective art-making and simple mindfulness between meetings help carry small discoveries into everyday life. I notice shifts in posture, breath and colour, offering invitations rather than directives and tailoring activities to where your nervous system is. This approach often fits people who find talking alone leaves parts out of reach.
