Ros Howell, MSc

Psychodynamic Psychotherapist

I offer opened-ended psychodynamic psychotherapy in the North Laine area of Brighton. Over time, I will help you to better get to know yourself and your ways of relating and how these patterns impact on what can be most difficult in life. Whatever brings you to therapy (whether a current crisis with huge amounts of emotional pain, a vague sense of something not right, or perhaps a historic trauma) is an important starting point to this joint project we will both undertake.

About Me

I initially trained as a movement psychotherapist, working predominately with children. Even though I now only work with adults and using talking therapy I am still interested in how the body and mind are connected and the myriad of creative ways we can find to communicate what is most important and sometimes what is most painful to us.

Approach

Sometimes our inner resources can go into maintaining patterns and ways of being in the world that while protective and often creative, can getting in the way of finding a more satisfying way of being and living. Part of what can help is to pay attention to our relationship as it develops as a way to understand more about what is going on for you and to help you find something new and potentially enlivening.
