Rana Mzayek, MA

Clinical Psychologist

Verified

I work with adults and teenagers navigating relational difficulties, mood struggles, or a persistent sense of being stuck in familiar patterns. My approach integrates practical CBT with a psychodynamic and transference-focused lens, helping clients build both coping tools and a deeper understanding of what sustains the pattern. $50 per session — happy to answer any questions before we get started.

About Me

I'm a clinical psychologist in training, drawn to why a pattern repeats, not just how to manage it. My path moved from CBT toward psychodynamic and transference-focused work, and that shapes how I work now: steady, collaborative, and unafraid to name what's difficult, because real change happens when we look at the pattern directly. I mostly help teenagers and adults who feel caught in relational cycles they can't quite name, or stuck in mood or connection despite trying to fix it themselves. If you want someone who takes both the immediate struggle and its roots seriously, this is the work I do.

Approach

My approach centers a relational, depth-oriented lens shaped by my training in Transference-Focused Psychotherapy, with practical tools brought in as needed. I pay close attention to how a client's patterns show up in the therapy relationship itself, treating that as useful information rather than just a topic to discuss. Expect a mix of grounded strategies and direct observations, adjusted to what each session calls for.
