Mr Pete Farlam

Clinical Psychologist

An experienced clinical psychologist (and consulting school psychologist) who works mainly with adolescents, young adults and parents.

About Me

Navigating adolescence and young adulthood presents unique challenges for young people and their parents. This experienced clinical and consulting school psychologist deeply understands these complex developmental stages. They offer a supportive space to explore identity, relationships, and school-related pressures. Families can find clarity here, strengthening communication and building resilience together. This approach helps young people and parents navigate transitions with greater confidence.

Approach

Working mainly with teens, emerging adults and caregivers, my sessions move between careful assessment and practical action. In Cape Town I work in English, offering structured, time-attuned meetings where we set clear goals, track mood and behaviour, and use concise family conversations or school liaison when helpful. Between sessions I set small experiments and brief reflections to build skills for anxiety, anger or substance concerns, and I bring diagnostic clarity when questions about development or personality arise. This approach suits those wanting collaborative, steady progress.
