Dr Perry Adler

Psychologist

Work with Dr. Adler like two detectives/scientists to understand why you are who you are and learn more adaptive ways to think and behave.

About Me

I invite you to join me in a collaborative exploration of your inner world. Together, we will act like two detectives, two scientists, carefully examining your experiences and thought patterns. This process helps you understand why you think and behave as you do. We then work to uncover more adaptive ways forward. This approach is ideal for those ready to deeply investigate themselves and foster lasting change. Being an expert in cognitive behaviour therapy and its derivatives within the Third‑wave of CBT approaches (e.g., Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness‑based cognitive therapy (MBCT), Values-based therapy)) I can teach you strategies to make important changes in your self-view, world-view, and your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.

Approach

We lean into a curious, methodical inquiry that maps your patterns and pinpoints moments that keep you stuck. In Montreal I offer sessions in English and French, both in person and online, with a steady pace that balances focused reflection and practical experiments between meetings. Sessions blend assessment-informed questions, thought–behaviour exploration and gentle behavioural trials so you can test new responses and adjust what works. This approach fits those ready for honest, hands-on work toward clearer choices and steadier mood. Quebec law allows me to provide therapy online to anyone from any in the world as long as the person's local laws allow for it.
