Ms Peggy Handler, MFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Offering video and phone as well as in person therapy

About Me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Noe Valley in San Francisco. I provide depth psychotherapy with a focus on inner healing and personal growth, helping you understand your inner world, fostering a path toward transformation and a deeper connection to your whole self. In addition to talk therapy, we may explore personal symbols through dreamwork, imagery and sandplay ( see website) as well as listening to the emotions stored in your body that are seeking expression. I specialize in working with mid life and older adults encountering the unique opportunities and challenges of those phases of life which may include integrating life experience and wisdom, living with authenticity and purpose, finding inner peace and self compassion and deepening self-understanding. Psychotherapy can help you find meaning as you age and reconnect with creativity, vitality, and dreams. It is also a safe, supportive space to explore retirement/finances, grief/loss, health/mortality, loneliness/isolation, anxiety and depression in later life.

Approach

I am a depth psychotherapist, which means that we will weave together an exploration of whatever is going on for you now, with its roots in your past. We will colaboratively embark on a journey together to help you through life transitions, to find meaning and more choice in your life, and to find your true self. We may explore your dreams to assist in this process.
