Nicola

Ms Nicola Bald, BSc

Professional Counselor

In my clinical work, I’ve supported adults of all genders across women’s services, community counselling, and corporate mental health. I also lead workshops and gender-inclusive support circles for survivors of trauma, cancer, and abuse. These experiences help me offer care that is flexible, inclusive, and grounded in genuine human connection.

About Me

Hello I'm Nicola, I’ve always been curious about people, what drives us, what shapes our choices, and how we make sense of the world. That curiosity guides my work as a person-centred, pluralistic, and trauma-informed therapist. Sometimes life looks “fine” from the outside, but inside you feel stretched thin, disconnected, or simply not yourself anymore. When we work together, we explore what feels true for you in that moment, whether that’s understanding old patterns, building steadier ways to cope, or using creative or movement-based approaches when talking feels too much. Some people find walk-and-talk sessions helpful; others prefer grounding or sensory work that brings them gently back into their bodies. Whatever route we take, my aim is to keep therapy real, steady, and genuinely supportive, helping you move forward in a way that feels right for you.

Approach

My approach is trauma‑informed and person‑centred, but more than anything, it’s human. In individual sessions or group circles, I offer space for honesty, connection, and the possibility of change. Clients often tell me they feel understood rather than judged, and that our work helps them rediscover the strength they thought they’d lost. Whether one‑to‑one or in a group, therapy with me is about sharing experiences and building resilience together. My style is straightforward and compassionate, always focused on what matters most to you. Alongside traditional sessions, I bring in creative practices, walk‑and‑talk therapy, sand tray work, drawing, and journalling, offering different ways to express what’s hard to put into words.
