Ms Nadiya Aamer

Psychotherapist

verified by TherapyRoute

As a certified EMDR practitioner, I offer trauma-focused therapy to support the processing of difficult memories, emotional distress, PTSD, anxiety, and deeply held survival patterns. EMDR allows traumatic experiences to be processed in a way that supports greater emotional integration, resilience, and healing beyond insight alone.

About Me

I hold a Level 5 qualification in Integrative and Psychodynamic Therapy from CPCAB, UK. I am a Certified EMDR Practitioner, IFS-trained practitioner, and certified Somatic and Breathwork Trauma Healer, with a strong focus on embodied trauma healing and nervous system regulation. Alongside verbal exploration, I integrate body-based practices, somatic awareness, movement, breathwork, grounding, and resourcing to support clients in safely reconnecting with their bodies and internal experiences. This approach can help restore a sense of safety, regulation, emotional presence, and self-trust. My work is relational, intuitive, and deeply attuned to each individual’s pace. I honour the wisdom of both the psyche and the body, creating a therapeutic space where healing is experienced not only through insight and understanding, but also through embodied transformation and a deeper connection with the self.

Approach

I support individuals in exploring the impact of trauma, relational wounds, attachment patterns, and overwhelming life experiences on both the mind and body. My work is grounded in an Integrative and Psychodynamic approach, helping clients gently uncover how past experiences continue to shape present emotions, relationships, behaviours, and nervous system responses.

Basic Information

Services

I offer integrative, trauma-informed psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, relational difficulties, emotional overwhelm, identity concerns, and developmental wounds. My work combines psychodynamic psychotherapy with embodied and nervous system-informed approaches, supporting healing in a safe, reflective, and attuned therapeutic space. My approach explores how early attachment experiences, relational patterns, and past emotional experiences shape present-day difficulties. Alongside insight-oriented work, I support emotional regulation, self-awareness, and deeper connection with the self and others. I am a certified EMDR practitioner and work with both single-incident and complex developmental trauma, integrating EMDR carefully with grounding, stabilisation, and nervous system safety. My practice is also informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), helping clients relate more compassionately to different inner parts of themselves and reduce shame, inner conflict, and self-criticism. As a Certified Somatic and Breathwork Trauma Healer through The Embody Lab, I integrate body-based practices, movement, and breathwork to support nervous system regulation, embodiment, grounding, and emotional processing. I also work with couples and families experiencing communication difficulties, emotional disconnection, attachment ruptures, and recurring conflict, supporting greater understanding, repair, and emotional connection within relationships.
